Stewart Ellen Presson Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship for out-of-state high school students in the School of Dance.

Established by Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Presson to honor Thomas’ sister who was a student in the summer school program in the School of Dance. Stewart Ellen Presson was born on September 2, 1965 and was raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. Throughout her life, Stewart enjoyed many different forms of dance and performing arts, with a particular interest in ballet and contemporary dance. One of the most meaningful experiences in her young life was the UNCSA Summer Dance Program in the School of Dance,which she attended in 1980. Stewart was terminally injured in an auto accident at the age of 15, though she survived unconscious many years following the accident.
