Mollie Murray Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship benefitting students demonstrating outstanding talent and potential in the School of Drama.
Established in 2014 by family, friends, faculty, alumni, and students to honor Ms. Murray’s 45 years of devoted service to UNCSA. Ms. Murray, Associate Professor in Drama, taught Theatre Dance and Movement at UNCSA from 1969 until 2014. She is married to Associate Professor Bob Francesconi in the School of Drama. Professional Credits: Matt Mattox and Luigi Jazz Techniques. Member of Matt Mattox Company, 1960-1963. Studied with Luigi 1956-1996. Studied tap with some of the greatest: Fred Kelly, Gene Kelly, June Taylor, George Foster, Jack Timmer, Danny Daniels, Paul Draper, Honi Coles, Buster Brown and more. Broadway and TV credits plus industrials, summer stock and dinner theatre include: “The Music Man,” featured dancer in “Jennie,” “The Unsinkable Molly Brown,” “Flower Drum Song,” “The Ed Sullivan Show” (1960-63), New York’s World Fair 1964-1965.
